ROG 2 9 2006 <br />EXHIBIT J DivM n ngfa^d Safety n <br />VEGETATION INFORMATION <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />The areas shown as existing pit floor and existing sediment ponds are neazly void of vegetation <br />due to mining activities. <br />The flat (top) portion of the azea to be mined is nearly void of vegetation due to landowner <br />activity. <br />The slope on the southerly side of the azea to be mined and the azea in reclamation aze primarily <br />covered with native willow bushes, 4 to 16 feet tall, with an understory of grasses. These azeas <br />aze used for the following estimate: <br />Trees (willows over 16 feet tall) 2% <br />Tall shrubs (willows 4-16 feet tall) 40% <br />Low shrubs (willows & others) 15% <br />Grasses 30% <br />Forbs 13% <br />Surrounding the pit, the willows aze particulazly dense along the bank of the Arkansas River and <br />Maxwell Creek. The land to the north is an irrigated hay meadow, and the owner's land to the <br />west contains grasses and some lazge cottonwood trees. <br />The Soil Survey referenced in Exhibit I predicts a yield of 3 tons per acre of native grass meadow <br />(hay) when this land is irrigated. <br />
