The proposed site is on property owned and
operated by Washington Mining Company and operated by San Juan County Mining
Venture there is also adjoning land owned by the Bueeau of Land Management.
EXHIBIT B, The vegetation on the proposed site is minimal there is no grass on
the slope there is two scrub pine trees on the slope. At the bottom on the proposed
site where the crushing and screening will thke place there are large pine trees
and some cottonwood trees also some willows the county will not destroy any of the
pines or cottonwoods but may have to destroy some willows to make room for opreations.
The site has no topsoil on the excavation slope and the topsoil at the base of the
slope is minimal the county wiil salvage and stockpile any topsoil for future re=
placement.
2. To the best of my knowledge ther is minimal wildlife on the proposed site due
to the the slope angle type of material and lack of vegetation and natural feed to
support any wildlife. The other reason there is minimal wildlife is due to the fact
that this area is a staging and stockpiling site for the property owners and oper-
tors they stack ore and do blasting in this area that keeps wildlife away. I have
seen some marmots running through the area, Louis K. Girodo, County Road Supervisor.
3. There are no man-made structures within 200 feet of the proposed site there are
old ruins of the old sunnyside mill site about 350'from the site.
EXHIBIT C, 1. The date that operation will commence is one week after the MLRD
notifies the county. This should be June 22, 1990 and operation should end on
October 17, 1990.
2. There is no topsoil on the affected slope any minimal topsoil at the staging area
what topsoil there is will be salvaged and saved for future use.
3. no overburden.
4.n/a
5. Access to the sit is county road ll2 there wail be a short road of about 300'
from the crushing site to the stockpiling area.
6. The disturbances to the land surface is about 400 feet along the bench road
downward aproximatly 60 feet from the bench road to the staging area.
7. The only road will be for stockpiling it will be about 300 feet long from the
crushing site to the stockpiling area.
S. There will be no water used .
9. N/A
lON/A
11. The extracted material will be bothc crmshed and screened with a portable
crushing plant and a portable screening plant.
:~'he Mining Plan The county will push material fron the bench road to the bottom
where the material will be trained to the crushing and or screening plant and processed
the hualed and stockpiled for future us on county roads and bridge porjects
