As noted on page 2, the Board's jurisdiction
does not include land use decisions, visual or economic impacts, impacts to public roads, noise
and other nuisance and socio-economic issues. Impacts to air quality, surface water quality,
water quantity, impacts to threatened or endangered animal species and the protection of historic
resources are regulated by agencies other than the Board. The items you are concerned with
appeaz to fall under the jurisdiction of other agencies; most likely Fremont County.
You are correct. Life of the mine is defined as those periods of time from when a permit is
initially issued and as long as construction material reserves remain in the mining operation.
Is your land within 200 feet of the proposed affected land area? All of the
information is public and on file at the DMG's Denver office. You need to come to Denver and
review all the information and then request what you want.
