i
TEANICAL REVISION
[Amendment 1 - South - located on the North bank of Sombrero Lake] to
maintain access for these vehicles.
All lands should be released on Amendment 1, except for the stockpile, which the
operator intends to salvage, and one additional seeding of Corridor 3. The end
use that the landowner is making of the area is indicative of its suitability for
release.
IV. Area IV is adjacent to the NE corner of Dakolios. Snyder Oil has made an
end use of this area for its well. An agreement with Snyder Oil is provided with
this submittal to show that Snyder Oil has assumed responsibility for the
reclamation and environmental commitments for this portion of the property.
V. Areas over the Original Pit 1 area suitable for release are indicated.
Healthy and self-sustaining stands of wheatgrass have stabilized this portion of
the site. The balance of lake area is shown, and as indicated below, resolution
over these areas with the State Engineer's Office is imminent.
If the 11.2879 acres of Area C need backfilling, as part of resolution with the
State Engineer's Office, the resulting warranty for revegetation would increase
the estimates provided by $ 2,688.78. The presently overbonded state of this
operation is more than adequate to meet this concern, but for the sake of clarity,
this provision is too theoretical to include in the warranty total at this time, but
like each discrete area, can be attended to easily, if and when necessary.
Portions of the Original Pit 1 were backfilled in an effort to comply with State
Engineer concerns over pre-law water. Augmentation of the material for
revegetation purposes is needed, and is provided for under this submittal. Local
nearby sources of Free cow and turkey manure are available, delivered. The
submittal accounts for the cost of spreading manure over suspect areas. Since
discing is already provided for, the measure is included without serious impact
to the cost effectiveness of such an application. The enhanced percent organic
matter of treated areas should be more than adequate to assure revegetation
targets. Soil testing relative to this consideration will occur. Analysis of the
manure is provided with this submittal.
The Office/Shop is actually a permanent end use, unaffected by extraction
activities, providing administrative housing and field support [including heavy
equipment repairs] for all Varra Companies, Inc. purposes and diverse
I
Varra Companies, Inc. - Pit 1 - DMG Permit M-74-052 4
Addendum - TECHNICAL REVISION - 08/16/96.
