Soil`and Planting. j <br />Refertitig to'the commeatletter from Summit County O~n Space and Tr$ils Department dated May <br />12, 2004', the concern expressed is that the reclamation plan approved i e CN-001 application <br />include the same;equirements for zevegetation, grading; and.soil amendments as the Alpine Rock <br />reclamation permit (M-1993-035) coaiering.the same acre~ge`as CN=001: The DMG has a longstanding <br />,policy against downgrading of p;eeriously approved reclamation plans (see enclosed policy memo), <br />Moreover, it is the. DMG's considered opinicq that:cost effective reclamation measures applied at the <br />Mascot Placer will result in a viable stand o£vegetation: 'The,terms of§34;32.5.116(4}{q}(III), C.R.S. <br />also apply, wherein it is, stated that planting ie not required on sand add. gravel if the nature of the <br />surface:would "seriously inhibit plant growth and such condition cannot feasibly be remedied try <br />chemical treatment; fertilization, replacement of overburden; or Uke measures."
