Box 1303 <br />Boulder, CO 80306 <br />RE: Nelson Pit, Weed Control Plan, Permit No. M-74-070 <br />Class: Revision, Type-Seq.: TR-2 <br />Dear Mr. Hill: <br />The Division has reviewed your January 29, 2003 request for a Weed Control Plan <br />(Technical Revision No. 2) for the Nelson Pit, Your plan references a variety of noxious <br />weeds and generic treatment strategies such as herbicide application and mowing. It also <br />appears that diffuse knapweed is the main weed of concern. Prior to approval of your <br />plan, the Division requests that you provide the details of specific treatments for diffuse <br />knapweed and for any other noxious weed prevalent at the Nelson Pit. Such details <br />should include the time of yeaz and frequency of mowing each year, the specific <br />herbicide or herbicides to be applied, and the concentration, timing, and frequency of <br />herbicide application.
