, r
ti
potassium, electrical conductivity,pH and organic matter content. Fertilization rates will be
determined on the basis of the results of the analyses.
Phosphorus and potassium will be applied,as necessary,at the time of planting. Nitrogen
fertilization will occur after the vegetation has become established(most likely at the beginning
of the second growing season). This phased approach for fertilizer application will help to reduce
the growth of annual weeds which can be very efficient at nitrogen utilization, if it is applied at
the time of seeding.
SO►L TESTING PLAN SUMMARY
• Sample and analyze remaining un-mined subgrade rnaterials
• Sample and analyze topsoil from stockpiles
• Following final grading, apply specified fertilizer to un-mined subgrade materials per
CSU analyses
• Respread stockpiled topsoil
• Apply fertilizer to topsoil per CSU analyses
• Seed reclaimed areas per requirements in permit
• Apply nitrogen fertilizer, if necessary, at beginning of second growing season
(application rates based on CSU analyses)
