iii iiiiiiiiniiiiii
999
E~~A
S Coal Company Seneca Coal Company
April 24, 1995
Mr, Wallace Erickson ~F(~EIVEG
Division of Minerals and Geology
1313 Sherman street, Room 215 APR 26 1995
Denver, CO 80203-2273
~~lliv o~ wnnerals is Ueolc._
RE: Seneca II-W, Permit C-82-057, NOV NO. C-95-~~~
Dear Mr. Erickson:
This correspondence is being submitted to comply with the remedial
actior. necessary to abate NOV C-95-008. This actior. required that
the proper signs and markers be placed in the field.
Stream buffer zone signs were placed along the southern edge of
Haul Road G, near culverts G-1 and G-2, and at the western edge of
Topsoil Stockpile RR within the permit boundary to identify the
stream buffer zone at this location. These signs were observed
during your inspection on April 20, 1995.
The second part of this NOV required us to place permit boundary
markers along the north side of the Tie-Across Haul Road between
stations 80+00 and 90+00, specifically in the location of TAHRD-7
relief drain. Seneca personnel discussed this area with the
Division staff during issuance of this NOV. in certain areas of the
Tie-Across Haul Road the permit boundary traverses through local
ranchers fields. We have in the past placed markers in the exact
location of the permit boundary in these fields, but they are
continually being removed from the ground. This makes it extremely
difficult for Seneca to maintain these signs. In the best interest
of both parties, Seneca will upon approval from the Division, place
permit boundary markers on the perimeter of these fields. The
Division must recognize the fact that in these particular areas,
the actual. permit boundary will not be located where the signs are
placed. Upon notification from the Division, Seneca will post
permit boundary markers in the location mentioned above.
Please contact me if you or any other members of the Division have
any questions regarding this information.
Sincerely,
Michael G.
