Long
Division Director
Division of Mines and Geology
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
Dear Mr. Long,
~~~ II~I~~II~II~~I~~
RECEIVED
FEB 0 6 1995
Divisir~~ or m~nerais a Geology
Mi Vida Enterprises received your certified letter regarding the Gold Hill Mill dated
January 30, 1995, yesterday.
This letter is formal notice that Mi Vida Enterprises will not conduct milling operations
at the Gold Hill Mill until the corrective actions required by the Mined Land Reclamation
Board have been completed to the satisfaction of the Division staff.
As you know from our previous meetings and discussions, Mi Vida Enterprises has not
had anything to do with the milling operations conducted by Colina Oro Molina (COM, Inc.)
or by Mr. J. Wayne Tatman. Under the terms of our Milling Contract, we granted COM, Inc.
access to certain of our mining claims for the purpose of disposing of mill tailings in the
tailings pond and for storing water in the Hazel A, Wynona, and Time mines. COM, Inc. is
responsible for complying with all governmental permits, approvals, and regulations governing
its milling operations at the Gold Hill Mill. However, Mi Vida Enterprises will make every
possible effort to insure that our Co-Permittee, COM, Inc., complies with the Cease and
Desist Order issued by the Mined Land Reclamation Board on September 21, 1994.
When I spoke before the Mined Land Reclamation Board on 3anuary 25, 1995, I
clearly stated Mi Vida Enterprises' position with regard for the need for COM, Inc. to obtain
an approved permit for the Gold Hill Mill. Since this only involves editing and rewriting an
existing permit and addressing the problems created by the improper disposal of tailings in the
tailings impoundment during milling operations that were supervised by Mr. J. Wayne
1
