c
PAGE THREE
JANUARY 31, 1994
'...submit a plan (as a revision to the permit) with a schedule for testing compaction frequently
enough to verify compaction of each 2' lift and begin following that plan immediately after approval.'
WFU has submitted such a plan and is discussing it with DMG personnel. WFU believes the test
will show the required compaction. WFU requests that this NOV be vacated if the tests found that
the refuse area was compacted properly.
Certified drawings for the impoundment at the railroad loadout, conveyor transfer no. 1 and conveyor
transfer no. 2 were located in the permit document as Map 103A, Map 109 and Map 111
respectively. DMG requested the drawings be certified 'as built'. This request was complied with.
The certified design drawings were on file since the inception of the mine. Again, since this was
merely a matter of documentation, WFU requests that this NOV be vacated.
Sincerely,
t.---
Murari P. Shrestha, P.E.
Assistant Manager of Engineering
MS:Igp
cc: Raja Upadhyay
Jeff Dubert
Tim Chervick
