During that visit we discussed the
various maintenance items that were to be performed as a result of
a Board Order issued during the November meeting of the
Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board. Additionaly the maintenance
items were explained in a letter dated January 25, 1991. As you
know the Board Order stated that the maintenance was to be
performed by June 1, 1991.
On May 30, 1991 I met with Mike Ferrari, who was contracted to do
some of the required maintenance. Mr. Ferrari and I inspected the
areas where maintenance work had been performed. Nearly all the
required maintenance had been performed at the time of this visit.
There were just a few small items that still needed to be finished
including at least one thing that was not discussed during our site
visit.
This involved the Baldwin road on the north side of the property.
Durinq construction of that road Mr. Baldwins contractor removed a
culvert that conveys drainage from the west side of the reclaimed
area to the sediment pond number 15-P2. I asked Mr. Ferrari to
replace this culvert and told him that I would inform you of this.
Outside of this there were only a couple of other things that were
not completed which included grading a road and repairing a couple
more rills. The rest of the required maintenance had been completed
to the satisifaction of the Board Order. I would caution you that
the site will need to be maintained from this point forward until
bond release is completed.
