Cessation of any dewatering operations at the Heit Pit. <br />2. Completion of an investigation to assess the cause(s) of the reduced groundwater levels (this <br />will be completed within 30 days). <br />3. Implementation of one or more mitigation measures. <br />REQUEST FOR TECHNICAL REVISION <br />It is requested that the subject pemut be revised to reflect the following: <br />1. The groundwater trigger in the permit be changed, as previously described. <br />2. Specific language on the process to be followed for implementation of mitigation measures <br />be revised, as described previously in this request. <br />The frequency of monitoring of the piezometers be reduced to bimonthly starting on <br />October 1, 2005. Monthly monitoring would resume upon initiation of construction of the <br />slurry wall or other mining activities, and continue throughout the life of the operation. <br />This TR is based on a limited amount of data that may not be totally representative of long-term <br />groundwater conditions. The owner reserves the right to submit a TR in the future to modify the <br />trigger, as justified by additional data. <br />We appreciate your assistance with this request.
