Mr. Carl Mount
September 14, 2005
Page 4
If the proposed trigger is reached, the following actions will take place:
1. Cessation of any dewatering operations at the Heit Pit.
2. Completion of an investigation to assess the cause(s) of the reduced groundwater levels (this
will be completed within 30 days).
3. Implementation of one or more mitigation measures.
REQUEST FOR TECHNICAL REVISION
It is requested that the subject pemut be revised to reflect the following:
1. The groundwater trigger in the permit be changed, as previously described.
2. Specific language on the process to be followed for implementation of mitigation measures
be revised, as described previously in this request.
The frequency of monitoring of the piezometers be reduced to bimonthly starting on
October 1, 2005. Monthly monitoring would resume upon initiation of construction of the
slurry wall or other mining activities, and continue throughout the life of the operation.
This TR is based on a limited amount of data that may not be totally representative of long-term
groundwater conditions. The owner reserves the right to submit a TR in the future to modify the
trigger, as justified by additional data.
We appreciate your assistance with this request. We are available to answer any questions that you
may have, or provide additional information, if needed.
Sincerely,
WRIGHT WATER ENG RS, INC.
By
ve B.
