(EFCI) requests
extension of abatement for NOV C-91-30 from the current deadline
(March 31, 1992, 5 p.m.) to April 9, 1992, 5 p.m.
This request for extension of abatement exceeding 90 days is
made pursuant to Rules 5.03.2(2)(c)(IV) and 5.03.2(2)(e) of the
Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for Coal Mining. Field work
to abate the above violation, recently begun following approval of
the required Technical Revision No. 11 has been hampered by wet
ground conditions due to recent snow and rain events. The
required work involves operating on steep slopes with a high
potential of causing additional environmental harm and unsafe
working conditions. The additional abatement time requested
should allow ground conditions to improve and facilitate
completing the necessary construction work.
If you have any questions regarding r_his request, or need
additional information, please contact me at your convenience.
Sincerely,
Allen S. Weaver
Mine Engineer
cc: R. Acre
C. Carey
AW/cw
