As I understand from testimony given at the recent Board
meeting, the site exceeds the 9 (nine) acres stated to be affected on the
application form line 13b. Please clarify, as I believe the affected acreage
for this permit should be on the order of 30 (thirty) acres.
In addition, concerning adequacy we have received a letter from
Roy S. Jackson, Area Manager at the BLM office in Craig. Mr. Jackson states
that according to Federal Law and regulations the large buildings on public
lands must be removed at the end of mining. This affects final reclamation
costs. The Division will recommend to the Board that an additional $15,000.00
(Fifteen Thousand Dollars) be posted for the removal of these buildings.
Concerning the liner specifications you have received our adequacy letter
which specifically requests additional information for the liner and
associated design and construction of the proposed disposal site.
If you have any questions or comments please contact me.
Sincerely,,
96 D4
Philip C.
