<br />ATTACRPIEIJT A <br /> <br />Supporting calculations used to assess civil penalty ayainst .Snowmass Coal Co. <br />for Notices of Violation 81-50 and 81-51. <br />It was decided that both penalties shoulrl.be assessed in part for the cost <br />Snowmass would have incurred had they monitored according to the requirements <br />of their approved permit. <br />Monitoring requirements were taken from Chapter G.7, pages 77-89 of the Snowmass <br />Coal Company permit amendment, Play 15, 1980, which was approve c7 July 29, 1980. <br />Price quotes were obtained from Commercial Tes tinq and En yi nee r.inq Company, <br />Camp Dresser and McKee, Tn c, and Rookcli ffs Comrrr_•rci al L,~boca to ri es, Inc. <br />Dookcliffs Lab quotes were used in the assessment, since thcu quoted the lowest <br />prices. <br />The parameters considered in the assessment were those specified on Table G.7-1 <br />of Snowmass' permit amendment.
