• Information on the specific laboratory analysis to be performed <br />• Obtain new 1-liter amber glass sample bottles for DIMP by contacting the <br />laboratory and arranging for the bottle order pickup <br />• Property map of the lake to be sampled <br />• Hip wader boots <br />• Sample labels <br />• Paper towels <br />• Rubber gloves <br />• Field log book <br />• Chain of custody paperwork <br />• Cooler <br />• Ice or frozen cool packs <br />• Disposable vinyl gloves <br />• Duct tape <br />• Trash bags <br />• 10-mil plastic sheeting <br />• Mazking pens <br />• Business cards and identification <br />• Mobil phone <br />• Operable camera <br />4 Sampling Method <br />Using clean new disposable vinyl gloves the water samples will be taken by submersing <br />the sample container with the cap attached beneath the water surface to a depth of one <br />foot. The sample will be taken from the end of a pier on the lake or as far into the lake as <br />possible using hip waders. The cap will be removed at the depth of one foot and the <br />container allowed to fill with water. When the bottle is full, the cap will be attached prior <br />to removing the container from below the surface of the lake. The full sample container <br />is dried and labeled. The labeled container will be placed into a cooler with ice <br />immediately to preserve the sample. <br />Care will be taken to prevent air bubbles from entering the sample container. Sample <br />containers will not be rinsed prior to sampling. <br />-3- <br />
