Division Director <br />Lakewood, CO 80235 Natural Resource Trustee <br />Re: King Mountain Sand & Gravel Mine, Conversion Approval, Permit No. M-1978-314, Revision No. CN-1 <br />Dear Mr. Eberl: <br />On Mazch 15, 2005 the Division of Minerals and Geology approved the Conversion application submitted to the Division <br />on November 23, 2004, addressing the following: <br />Increase the permit area from 9.9 acres to 341 acres. 184 acres will be affected by mining activity but the active <br />mining area will not exceed 35 acres aE any given time. <br />The terms of the Conversion No. 1 approved by the Division are hereby incorporated into Permit No. M-1978-314. All <br />other conditions and requirements of Permit No. M-1978-314 remain in full force and effect. <br />The Division estimated a cost for reclamation liability in the amount of $327,000.00. A copy of the esfimate is attached. <br />The Division currently holds a bond in the amount of $8,000.00. If you have not already done so, please submit <br />additional bond in the amount of $319,000.00.
