GENERAL NOTES ON MINING AMENDMENT AREA:
Mining of amendment connects with mining of land to the north of the amendment. General
mining direction to be north to south. Although overflow protection berms help protect the pit from
river overflows, it would be best to mine and backfill between mid - September and mid -April when
there is the least chance of river overflows occurring. Care must be exercised to not affect trees in
the 100' setback zone as those are major protection to keep the river in place. Backfill is best done
in more or less horizontal lifts, but avoid compacting backfill any more than is necessary. Pit
sideslopes can be steep to maximize recovery of rock. Pit should connect with pit to the north for
dewatering purposes.
GENERAL NOTES ON RECLAMATION:
Backfill to the original elevation. Do not compact backfill
any more than necessary; excessive compaction will limit the
success of revegetation. After completion of backfill, remove
Overflow Protection Berm by spreading over the top of the
backfill. For revegetation requirements, refer to the
Reclamation Plan (Exhibits E and F).
/ x 4602,9
4606. Overburden
will not be stockpiled
in the setback zone.)
NOTES ON MINING "OLD BERM ":
Berm is composed of overburden and should be
used for backfill. Extraction of the berm will leave the
south side of berm unaffected. A low ridge will be left
along the south side of the Old Berm. The low ridge will
protect wetlands to the south from overflow from the
backfilled pit to the north and sedimentation that might
occur before full revegletation can be accomplished.
R"°-.,.
r- D
JAN 3 7 2007
Ofvlalon
of Reclarnat
Mining and 8areh,'
stole: 1" = 100'
No changes were made
to this map by
Amendment 3
Permit #
Class 9'210 , Contidential?_
_ Type SeQM
D Date (if no Date=
Doc Named { C - 413 Avne an{ Jrfa
From DRMS/Otherl + _ ,y
TO(P Other ( Ina
Recipients '
contour interval = 2'
Continental Materials (M- 1986 -015)
East Pit Transit Mix of Pueblo
Exhibit C- 413 (Amendment 2)
Amendment Detail Mining Plan Map
Drawn by: MAH (6/04)
048 - Amendment 3 -2 Detail MaI
