<br />1~. <br />I ~ <br />i~ <br />I ~ <br />I ~ <br />~..1 <br />l <br />1 <br />i <br />i <br />~~ : i <br />North Eagleview Drainage Design Retort <br />#3 CBC ~ISCHAR6E VS OPEN AREA <br />Steel plates are to be installed on the upstream end of the #3 CBC to limit flows that con pass down the ditch. The <br />plates will initially be set to provide an opening of 3' height by 6' width. The height of the box culvert is fixed, but <br />the plates will be equipped with slots to allow the opening width to be varied. <br />The next page contains a spreadsheet calculation of the orifice equation for the #3 CBC listing discharge versus <br />opening width. The orifice coefficient was derived from the SWMM model as an average for the 100 year storm <br />runoff superimposed on current and then on future irrigation flows. Similarly, the difference in head, "h", was taken <br />as the average of the two flow scenarios modeled in SWMM. <br />Following the orifice calculation page is a graph showing the discharge versus opening width for the flow control <br />device. <br />
