M-
19790-165
Mr. Frei,
Thank you for your timely response to the Division of Mining, Reclamation and Safety
(Division) comments on the Technical Revision for the Frei Pit #3 File no, M-19790-165.
As Steve O'Brian and myself talked about in a follow-up telephone conversion on
10/2/2006, The Division may have not been as clear on our expectations for this TR as
we could have been. As a result your responses do not appear to provide the clarification
on the reclamation and post-mining land use that the Division has sought. The phone
conversation was useful incoming up with a clearer assessment of what the Division is
looking for. Specifically the Division requests that you submit a reclamation plan and
reclamation map that reflects what the reclamation you anticipate undertaking (or have
undertaken) will look like. These submissions (along with the regulatory requirements)
will then be the basis for comparison when you request warranty release.
Just as reminder the decision date for this TR is 10/6/06.
Please contact me with any questions or concerns (303-866-4922)
Sincere
'Z• -t^JL'-c~
Chris Rowe
Environmental Protection Specialist
cc: Tony Waldron -DBMS
Carl Mount -DBMS
Steve O'Brian -Environment Inc.
