RE: Partial Refund of Escrowed Civil Penalty, Rimrock Coal
Company, The Rimrock Strip Mine, Permit No. C-89-074,
Notice of Violation No. C-93-053
Debbie, on October'~1993, Landmark Reclamation, Inc. deposited a
civil penalty on behalf of Rimrock Coal Company in the amount of
$1,550 for NOV C-93-053. This civil penalty was placed into an escrow
account per Rule 5.04.4(1) of the Regulations of the Colorado Mined
Land Reclamation Hoard for Coal Mining.
On November 17, 1993, the Board, during a formal public hearing,
considered the facts of the violation and the amount of proposed
penalty associated with this NOV. At the hearing, the Board upheld
the issuance of the NOV, and voted to reduce the civil penalty from
$1,550 to $1,050.
Please return $500 from the $1,550 deposited by
Landmark Reclamation, Inc., plus any interest accrued from
October 12, 1993, to the following address:
