As I indicated to you during said conversation, Mr. and Mrs. Griffin have spoken with Wayne Quinlan and with Gary Robins with regard to illegal mining activities from the gravel pit which is now the subject of an application before the Mined Land Reclamation Board by Mr. Demetrio Valdez and Mrs. Olive Valdez. Mr. and Mrs. Griffin determined from Mr. Wayne Quinlan as well as Mr. Gary Robins that during the period of January 1, 1987 through January 1, 1990, Mr. Randall Robins, a contractor from Antonito, Colorado, hauled approximately 100 to 200 loads of gravel to the HORCA subdivision which is located in the North One-Half of Section Six, Township Thirty-three North, Range Six East, N.M.P.M. Enclosed is a copy of the La Jara Canyon U.S.G.S. Quadrangle which depicts the real property to which said gravel was hauled. Said gravel was hauled and placed on roads, on home sites and for sewage systems. This mining activity occurred subsequent to the termination of the mining activities of the State of New Mexico and its contractors. I have been unable to contact Mr. and Mrs. Griffin to determine whether they are able to try to obtain sworn affidavits from Randall Robins, Gary Robins, and Wayne Quinlan. It, however, appears to me that an on-site inspection of this real property will reveal the approximate amount of gravel that has been hauled, that the questioning of Mr. Gary Robins or Mr. Wayne Quinlan will to reveal that it was obtained from the Valdez Gravel Pit and the -~- ~~; _`
