MRV understands that Mr. David Bird, Senior Geochemist at the Division has,
upon participating the in the site inspection of February 23, 2007, obviated the concerns
listed in his memo of February 6, 2007. Specifically, Mr. Bird indicated that the
geochemical analysis performed by MRV was adequate to characterize the site asnon-
DMO.
MRV reiterates that the mine operates in "zero discharge". No water dischazges from the
mine, or will dischazge during operations. In the event that mine dewatering becomes
necessary, all applicable laws and regulations will be strictly adhered to. MRV
anticipates the maximum dewatering that may occur would be approximately 25 gallons
per minute for approximately 2 weeks per yeaz. As specified in the permit amendment
text, the mine will be closed via a concrete hydraulic seal. Any water exiting the mine
post-closure will occur as non-point seepage of minimal volume from natural fractures in
the granite. No dischazge to surface water will occur. The Division is surely in
agreement that the Cash Mine is a relatively dry mine, with minimal (<2.0 gpm) water
inflow.
