Logan Wash Mine TR No. 4
2. Scarify the mine bench surface (do not disturb areas already showing natural
revegetation).
3. Broadcast seed mix on the scarified surface.
4. Apply hydro-mulch and tackifier to the surface.
The materials to be applied to the bench surfaces include those in the following table.
Bench Reclamation Materials

Material Application Rate
Ibs er acre
Seed mix (Table 1) 17.5
Mat fiber hydro-mulch 2,000
Guardian® (tackifier) 60
No fertilizer Burin seedin -
No shrub transplanting _ _ -
The Guazdian® tackifier will be applied with the hydro-mulch materials. No fertilizer will be
applied during seeding. Fertilizer may be applied in subsequent years if needed.
Current Status
The mine benches associated with the Lower and Upper Dumps were regraded and seeded
during the summer of 2003. The Research Mine Bench is approximately 30% seeded (in areas
not expected to be impacted by potential future regrading).
3.2 Roads (Area 13)
Roads remaining to be reclaimed include the main mine access road (Area 13), including the
upper and lower mine bench roads, and the lower access road. Both of these roads involve
reclamation on BLM land and Occidental property.
The initial Plan stated that reclamation of the mine access roads would include ripping the road
surface, pulling-up fill slope material and placing the fill an the road bed against the cut slope,
broadcast seeding of the seed mix introduced in Area 1, applying straw mulch at a rate of 2,000
lbs per acre, and the installation of jute matting over the mulch. In addition, the Plan called for
shrub transplanting and seeding in accordance with procedures and seed mix outlined for Area 1
reclamation.
The estimated acreage of access roads requiring reclamation is 1.4 acres on the Lower Access
Road, and 4.7 acres on the Upper Access road, including the road sections on the Research Mine
Bench, Lower Bench, and Upper Bench.
Proposed Reclamation
In areas where mine access roads aze under aright-of--way agreement with the BLM, OOSI will
consult with BLM regarding their preferred reclamation methods. Since initial development of
Western Water & Land, Inc. 6
