Seed mix is to be drilled 0.5 to 1.5 centimeters into the prepazed soil at the recommended rate
and followed by a roll packer. Steep slopes aze to be broadcast seeded at twice the recommended
rate and lightly harrowed or tracked into the soil and covered by 2 tons per acre of weed-free
straw or hay mulch. Mulch is to be crimped into the soil with a crimper or un-canted soil disc, or
tackified with an appropriate emulsion tackifier.
(iiil Fertilizing
Stored topsoil is to be tested prior to respreading and appropriate amounts of phosphorus and/or
nitrate nitrogen is to be added during soil prepazation according to the following table.
Current phosphorous
content determined Supplemental
phos orous required Current nitrate
nitrogen content Supplemental
nitrogen required
0-3% Add 601b/acre 0-10% Add 401b/acre
4-7% Add 301b/acre 11-20% Add 201b /acre
>7% no added pho horous >20% Add 10 lb/acre
(ivl Alternate/Additional Reve etation
None
(vl Tonsoiling
Stockpiles of topsoil from previous operations and all surface soils stripped from excavation or
disposal azeas shall be salvaged and stockpiled outside of work and stockpile azeas in the
worked-out pit floor.
