We are requesting
that United Companies be released from its obligation of reclamation so that we
may begin a restoration project on the site. Design and construction of the
proposed river park will be funded by the US Army Corps of Engineers through
their Section 206 Aquatic Ecosystem Restoration Program. In order to proceed
we need to revise the reclamation plan to reflect the proposed changes.
Shawn LaBounty The objective for this site is to restore a proper riverine ecosystem to a heavily
Liane Mattson impacted reach of the river and provide public access. Meanders will be restored
throughout the 2,500 linear foot reach and 14 j-hooks and 5 cross vanes will be
Ron Godin utilized to stabilize the new channel and enhance habitat. The Paonia Ditch
' diverts imgation water at the upstream end of the reach. Please see the attached plan.
We would also like to request a waiver of the $188 technical revision fee. We aze
a community oriented 501(c)(3) non-profit group.
