As we have discussed, dae Iateroeptor Canal is tm Bnvironmencal Protection <br />Pacility as defined in Aule 1.1(15) of tlt0 Hard Roelc/Me[al Mining Rules and Regulaxions of the Mined <br />Land Reclamation Board end is subject to the provisions of Rules 7 and 8. The installation o£rbe <br />culvert and crossing will temporarily impinge on the flow capacity oP the canal; your proposal includes <br />the contiuganey of eulYerc and crossing remove] in the event of unusually large snowpaclc <br />accumulation. The Division herby approves the [emporery installarion of the culYCrx and crossing <br />with the following condition applied as a clariFcation to the flooding eonting¢ncy plan. <br />At tine beginning of April and again ac the begitming of May during cacti y¢ar that the <br />Interceptor Canal is impinged by the temporary culvert and crossing, tfie snowpack will be <br />evaluated by re£crnce xo the loves Pass and Glen Mar Ranch (Sunaxaix Ranch) Snotel sites. if <br />the anow/wacar equivalent a[ tither of these sites exceeds 125 percent of average. H¢nd¢rsoa <br />will consult with DMG about the potential need to rmove the temporary culvert and crossing <br />from the Interceptor Canal prior to intensive snowmclx runoff.
