We understand that your agent is seeking a technical revision to the present
Dennis RaynoWa reclamation plan from the Division of Minerals and Geology in order to raise portions of
M"moer
City of utdaton y the levee to provide four feet of freeboard above the 100-year flood profile. You asked
Members:
my opinion on three subjects. Your questions and my responses are provided below.
- .
Carolyn Buchholzt
City Or Lafayette
m 1. You asked "Whether the dike should remain in place, and, if to, whether the
„
Margaret Carpenter lower portions of the dike should be raised to a level at least four feet above the
City of immnh 3 base flood level."
Paul Danish
Boulder County c
BSI H;mmaunenn $ We believe that this dike, or levee as we prefer to call it, should definitely remain
City of Denver
B.M.Moftmealer Q in place unless or until an alternative flood control or flood mitigation strategy is
Engineer in place. We felt that that offer was a prudent one and
Edina count
Adorns Countyy we supported it. The actual parameters for the raising of the levee were
Debra vickray established in a subsequent meeting held in our office which was attended by
Arapahoe County representatives from CWCB and Flatirons. We continue to support Flatirons'
offer of four feet although FNMA only requires three feet.
2. You asked "Whether the dike currently offers flood protection benefit to the
residences to the north of the property."
DoodtbiWipfan .
