6034 <br />1. <br />2. <br />3 <br />4. <br />5 <br />8. <br /> <br />April 21, 1942 <br />REPORT ON COMPARATIVE CHEMICAL ANALYSIS <br />Laboratories Involved - <br />Purpose of Testing <br />Analyses Performed <br />Results <br />Battle Mountain Gold, San Luis (BMG) <br />Acculab, Golden <br />Analytica, Golden <br />As BMG reduces the level of cyanide to its <br />ponds, and continually monitors said <br />reduction, it waS believed, by CMLRD, that <br />"check" analysis, performed by outside <br />labs, would confirm the data generated by <br />BMG. <br />- The tests performed by all three labs, <br />simultaneously, were as mutlined in <br />"Chemical Analytical Matrix" ,dated <br />April 16, 1992. <br />- The results are presented in the attached <br />table. <br />Conclusions <br />i. There is no agreement amongst any of the labs other than on pH. <br />ii. The results from Analytica do not bear consideration since they are <br />ten fold the possible levels. <br />111. Similarly the colormetric analyses of Acculab are beyond <br />possibility. <br />iv. Acculab results using ion chromatography, seem to the writer, to <br />reflect WAD nat free-cyanide. <br />v. The results from San Luis look a little high (perhaps 10-20X) but <br />are, to the writer, substantially correct. <br />Recommendation - Use the San Luis results henceforth and <br />eliminate the use of the t1.lo "outside" <br />labs. <br />
