<br />Powderhorn Coal Company, P.O. Box 1430, Palisade, CO, 81526, has submitted a
<br />complete application for a technical revision to the Division of Minerals and Geology for its
<br />Roadside North and South Portals, mining permit No. C-81-041. The proposed revision
<br />provides for the partial reclamation of a mine water treatment pond, Pond 12, which is no
<br />longer required for the operation. The embankment between Pond 12 and a sediment
<br />pond, Pond 5, will be breached so Pond 12 is no longer a pond. Pond 12 will become a
<br />sub-drainage area to sediment Pond 5.
<br />The Roadside mines are located approximatelythree miles northeast of Palisade, CO at the
<br />Interstate 70, Cameo Exit No.46. The permit area is split east and west by the Colorado
<br />River and I-70, and is encompassed within the following lands:
<br />T10S, R98W., 6`" P.M.: Sections 20, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35
<br />T11 S, R98W., 6`" P.M.: Sections 1, 2, 11, 12, 13, 14
<br />T11S, R97W., 6`" P.M.: Sections 6, 7, 18
<br />T1 S, R2E, Ute P.M.: Section 1
<br />The location of these sections is contained within the U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 minute
<br />Cameo and Palisade Quadrangle maps.

<br />and Recorder's office, 544 Rood, Grand Junction, CO, and at the offices of the Division of
