5~
EXHIBIT E - RECLAMATION PLAN
E.1 General
The general reclamation procedures for the San Luis Project
will remain the same as those presented in Exhibit E, Sections E.1
and E.2 of the approved permit. Topsoil/growth medium stockpiling
and use will occur as discussed in Section E.2.1 of the approved
permit, except that in addition to the major stockpiles shown on
Figure C-1 smaller stockpiles of topsoil may be located along roads
and adjacent to disturbance areas to provide easy access for
reclamation. These smaller stockpiles will be graded with side slopes
no steeper than 2H:1V and planted with a cover crrop of western
wheatgrass if left in place for more than one season. Section E.3
(Reclamation Implementation) will require amendment of the
reclamation plans for those facilities which have been revised (the
tailings disposal area and associated facilities). Reclamation
implementation for the waste rock disposal areas will occur in the
same manner as previously approved and can be found in Section E.3.2
of the approved permit. Reclamation of the mill facilities will also
occur in the same manner as previously approved and can be found in
Section E.3.6 of the approved permit. Reclamation of the tailings
disposal area is described in this exhibit. Reclamation plans for
existing facilities such as the test heap have been revised slightly
and are also discussed in this exhibit. Figure F-1 shows the revised
post-mining topography for the project area. Table E.2-1 has been
revised and is included in this amendment.
E.2 Tailings Disposal Area Reclamation
E.2.1 General
The tailings disposal area reclamation program will
include five basic elements listed in approximate order of
occurrence; 1) reclamation of the tailings embankment; 2) final
contouring of the disposal area surface; 3) excavation of the
E-1
