bi-annual surveys of the embankment configuration and disposal
• area to evaluate incremental and total volumes of deposited
tailings will be performed.
A measuring device will be installed and maintained in
order to monitor the volumes of precipitation and evaporation.
This information, combined with a mass and water balance
simulation update, will be used in modifying the tailings
disposal operations to optimize operating conditions.
D.6.7.6.4 Secondary Recovery/Leak Detection System Monitoring
The collection pond secondary recovery/leak detection
system will be monitored on a monthly basis using a water level
indicator. The leak response level for this pond will be the
same response levels as those for the heap leach ponds in the
approved permit. Any water in the secondary recovery system
will be pumped from the system to the pond for recycling to
the mill.
• D.6.7.6.5 Reoortina
All data collected will be reviewed by site personnel
who will compare and evaluate the recorded data for
determination of the performance of the tailings disposal area.
When significant variation from anticipated performance is
detected, the site personnel will notify the design engineer
who will establish whether modifications to the design or
alternative operations measures are required. Reports of the
results of all testing will be maintained on site.
•
D-59
