From the jaw crusher, the material i s placed on the
crushed ore stockpile. Feeders located beneath the crushed ore
stockpile will convey the ore to the grinding circuit as
needed.
The San Luis Project will incorporate a system of semi-
autogenous grinding known as SAG milling. The SAG mill is a
large diameter ball mill. The ball mill is a large rotating
steel drum into which large ore particles are fed. The ore
itself acts as grinding media as the drum rotates. The
discharge from the SAG mill is conveyed to the pump box. Figure
C-2 is a schematic which includes the crushing and grinding
circuit.
D.4.2 Crusher Dust Control
Dust control at the primary crusher will he controlled
• through sonic suppression and periodic watering during the
crushing process. The dust emission controls will be permitted
by the Colorado Department of Health, Air Pollution Control
Division. The grinding circuit is a closed wet circuit and will
not produce dust emissions.
D.5 Mill Facilities
The mill facilities are located in a saddle area in the
southern portion of the permit area as shown on Figure C-1. The mill
facilities will process the ore using a modified conventional mill
circuit which has been tailored to the specific chara<:teristics of
the San Luis Project ore. A schematic of the mill circuit is shown
on Figure C-2. The mill circuit has been designed as a closed circuit
operation with no potential for cyanide solutions in the mill to
discharge to the environment.

D-13
