These tests and the results are discussed in detail in
• Section D.3.3 and the results presented in Appendix F of the
approved permit. The test results indicate that no acid
production or leaching of degradational quantities of any
metals or other constituents from the waste rock at the San
Luis Project is expected to occur.
D.3.4 Facility Construction
D.3.4.1 General
Facility construction for the amended waste rock disposal
areas will be the same as the construction previously approved.
Each of the facilities will be constructed with distinct 50-
ft benches. It is anticipated that the benches will be
constructed by end dumping to a maximum of 50 +t with slope
faces at their approximate angle of repose (about 1.5H:1V).
Each bench will include a 75-ft horizontal setback to maintain
• a 3H:1V overall slope. Foundation preparation will consist of
the removal of vegetation and topsoil ahead of the advancing
waste rock fill. No additional special foundation preparation
is considered necessary. Upon completion of construction, the
disposal areas will be regraded to an approximate overall slope
of 3H:1V. A 15-ft bench, wide enough for a dozer, will be
maintained on each of the horizontal setbacks.
The stability analyses and typical sections are discussed
in detail in Section D.3.5 of this amendment. Detailed
information on construction requirements such as clearing and
stripping is presented in Appendix N of the approved permit.
D.3.4.2 Waste Rock Disoosal Area Construction Sequence
The mining sequence is the same as that presented in the
approved permit. Waste rock disposal will also occur in the
same sequence except that waste rock scheduled to be disposed

D-6
