As I discussed with <br />Kate Pickford in the Durango office, Gravel, LLC purchased the Gundersen property on <br />June 13, 2006. This acquisition provides for a much improved access roadway alignment. <br />This proposed realignment is shown on the attached Exhibits C and F. Additionally, the <br />preliminary design of this new roadway will be provided to your office under separate <br />cover. The eastern upslope limit of the proposed roadway alignment is considered the <br />boundary of the amended affected lands. No excavation or mining will occur within the <br />additional acreage outside of the roadway alignment. <br />Gravel, LLC intends to contract out the construction of the new roadway. Gravel, LLC <br />requests that the amended permit allow for limited mining and processing to provide <br />materials for the gravel surfacing of this roadway. It is proposed that the roughed in road <br />cut will allow access for mining equipment. No shipment of materials is proposed off of <br />the affected lands until the roadway gravel surfacing is complete. <br />Exhibits impacted by this amendment are attached.
