Expansion of the permitted area to 1, 674.6 acres (consisting of BLM-managed
claim lands delineated on the revised permit maps) with the affected area increased to 30.0 acres. New affected areas
will include multiple upland vent shafts and access roads, expansion of the portal area waste rock dump, and improved
stormwater control areas.
Near-term disturbances will affect 1Z8 acres of the approved 30.0 acres. There will be future disturbance to an
additional 12.2 acres of the approved affected area, at locations not currently deftned within the permit boundary, but to
be noticed to the Division at later dates.
The mining and reclamation plans otherwise remain unchanged.
The terms of the Conversion No. 1 approved by the Division are hereby incorporated into Pennit No. M-1980-055-HR.
All other conditions and requirements of Permit No. M-1980-055-HR remain in full force and effect.
The estimated liability amount of $81,522.00 exceeds the $38,433.00 performance bond currently held. If you have not
already done so, please submit additional bond in the amount of $43,089.00. The revision will not be final until the bond
is approved by the Division. Please ensure that BLM is also named on the bond instrument.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (970) 247-5193.
Sincerely,
~ob l/~"~-,~,,
Bob Oswald
Environmental Protection Specialist
Cc: Tony Waldron, DRMS
Elizabeth Taliaferro, DRMS
Helen Mary Johnson, BLM Durango
~~
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Active and Inactive Mines
