The holes <br />were discovered by the company as they were cleaning out the tanks and preparing for fmal <br />close out of the mine. <br />Notice of Possible Violation issued by Division of Minerals and Geology on Deceb3ber 26, 1997. <br />Violation <br />• Possible Loss of containment of cyanide from holes in bottom of the two leach tanks. <br />• No off-site damage or off-site health or safety issues occurred <br />• Division confirmed that the level of cyanide, 12.0 micrograms of cyanide per gram <br />of soil exists below one of the leach tanks. <br />Corrective Actions <br />• Company to determine depth of contamination <br />• Soil and material will be excavated and placed in the tailings disposal area <br />Corrective Actions have been completed by company. <br />For more info: Jim Dillie or Brice Humphries: (303) 866-3567 <br />
