HazeltinelRoad Runners Rest II/Brinkmann-Woodward Gravel Pits Lining Project -Design Technical Memorandum <br />Denver Water <br />August 2003 <br />4.3 Representative Cross Sections <br />Based on the results of our subsurface exploration program, packer permeability tests, and <br />knowledge of the local subsurface conditions, we developed six generalized cross sections to <br />represent the subsurface conditions around the west, north, and east sides of the combined <br />Hazeltine/Road Runners Rest IUBrinkmann-Woodward pits. The subsurface conditions used <br />for each cross section are based on the subsurface stratigraphy and bedrock properties <br />identified in the borings that are located within the section. <br />The six representative cross sections are illustrated on Figures 4.2 through 4.7 and the general <br />locations of each representative section are shown on Figure 4.1. The bedrock was modeled <br />with 3 to 5 horizontal bedrock layers with varying thickness for each cross section and the fill <br />and alluvial deposits that overlie bedrock were modeled as one horizontal ]ayer. <br />A table with the depths, degree of weathering, and predominant material type for each <br />horizontal bedrock layer is provided in Appendix B. A <br />constant head boundary is a boundary where the water surface (head) remains constant.
