As depicted in fhe photograph, the trash rack
has been cleaned of accumulated mud, rock, trash and debris.
In addition, I have enclosed material pertaining to BLM's contest of claims
filed on the Mid-Continent quarry. The contest is to those claims filed on the
previously mined material. We have, for several years, been shipping this
material to Climax, where it is used for reclamation purposes. Pitkin Iron
Corporation, the claimant, argues that such a use constitutes a qualifying end
use, for purposes of establishing that the material is locatable. BLM disagrees.
A hearing has been set for October, 2003, I've enclosed the following:
• IBLA 94-421.
• Contest No. 763, involving Chemin Nos. 5 and 6 Placer Mining Claims.
Answer.
• Motion for Pre-Hearing Conference.
• Entry of Appearance.
