San Lui<. the oldest Town in Colorado is 3 miles down hill and down wind of the propc,sed ammended Battle Mountain Resources (San Luis Project) fora Cyanide Gold Mill Mine Op- eration. Historically Cyanide open Pit mine operations have all had Major Pro- blems/Leaks caused by Human or mechanical probiems/errors that were not in the Mine Plans. The profit only Mine companies will only take the GOLD and leaven all the TOXIC metals and debris exposed to drain into the local environment. 1'he LAND inclu- ding the massive Open Pits, haul roads and WASTE rock disposal sites will cre- ate Major long term PROBLEMS. The reclamation of the area cannot be achieved because of the contaminated waste, the Altitude and lack of moisture. The 3 to 4 month growing season is a crucial factor in replacing the eexsisting Land conditions. The Magnitude and Proximity of the Ammended Mine Pl<nn is a very serious threat to the people living close to the mine. The Pure clean water needed to prime and Pump the Cyanide Gold Hill operations is millions of gallons. This Pure water has historically been uxed for human consumption, livestock and agriculture. The ammended mine plan lie scribes huge amounts of water needed to operatethe Cyanide mill facilities and need of pure water to process the gold. Historically other abandoned gold mine sites with the Cyanide waste and residue of heavy metals have all caused major Environ- ment problems for everyone concerned about Life. The Mine facilities will create Toxic Emissions and Pollution with Cyanide and otherheavy metals waste that will drift down hill and down wind leaving the people and environment at serious Risk. Please look at the reco-d of Colorado Gold Minning sites and the dangers. 1. The Leadville Drain 2. Ljarado Mines 3.
