The County feels Mr. Hershey will not give
permission to the County to reclaim the disturbed area.
On the second corrective action, the information the County received from the previous
administrator of the gravel pits was that Margaret Munro owned the adjacent land. When
Mr. Hershey filed his complaint, the County rechecked the records and found that a
Charles Shows owned the land. It also has come to our attention that Mr. Hershey does
have an interest in the land because payments for the property, but apparently Mr. Shows
still holds title to the property. Mr. Shows is also the person on record who owns this
property.
On the third corrective action, the County has installed a hay check dam near the
boundary to minimize the effects of the runoff from the site. Do to frozen ground no
other structures have been planned at this time.
If you have any questions, please call this office.
Sincerely,
G!~l ~ ~:~~> l~c~l~~-
Mathew Valdez
Costilla County Commissioners Office
