level. The Reclamation Plan will address final closure criteria for the shaft at the
end mining.
3x The app. six acre waste rock pile area will is depicted on the mine plan map and
,~~ will include the final graded (3:1) toe slope and associated berm and access trail
along its base. The contour furrowing area will be noted on the map.
~~ ~ Taylor Gulch rip-rapping application runs from the northern end of the disturbed
site to app. 100' below the road crossing. Most of the 500' of Taylor Gulch
referred to in the narrative has been cleaned of sed'unent and has been seeded with
the native seed mixture noted in the Reclamation plan submittal. The seeded area
will be located on the Reclamation Plan Map.
~(~ From the appeazance of new growth along the road cut, it is estimated that the
roadway was constructed along the east side of Taylor Gulch at the time of
Abandoned Mine work (grate installation) on an underground adit opening
located a few yazds south of the road cut intersection with Taylor Gulch. This
road and adit opening is included within the affected Land and defines the eastern
border of the affected land.
~. All mine benches will have topsoil applied no less than I' in depth prior to dozer
ripping and seeding with the approved seed mixture. The mine benches will be
accessed by smaller dozer (D-6 or smaller) along the mine bench ramps left for
elevation adjustment as one proceeds from the southern end to the northern
reaches of the bench construction. The topsoil will be placed by haul truck,
leveled by bulldozer and ripped prior to broadcast seeding and mulch application
at 2000# per acre. Topsoil thickness will be 1' unless topsoil availability becomes
an issue, at which time ra less than 6" of topsoil will be applied and ratification
will be given to the Division prior to application.
~n_ The temporary topsoil stockpiles will be seeded with the permanent seed mixture
~t m attempt to minimize confiuion that may occur with different seed mixtures,
promote seed source development within the topsoil material, and help to disperse
native seed mix from the upper elevations of the mine disturbance to the lower
reaches of the site,
Contour furrowing techniques have long been successfully employed an finally
~~ graded slopes with slopes as steep as 1:1. This slope stabilization technique will
be utilized on all final graded slopes to promote moisture collection, retention,
and seed bed site development. It can be assumed that the furrowing technique
will be employed sitewide on final graded slopes and flat areas.
.~~ ~ The channel feature referred to in the narrative is un-necessary due to the removal
of the crossing of Taylor Gulch at this location. The "enhancement" would
potentially allow for 4WD high centered vehicle access via smallerrip-rap
