Exhibit I SOILS
The soils found on the north area addition is described in
Exhibit J(ravisad 9/81) . The irrigated fields in Stage 5 and the
north end of Stage 6 are covered by the Mesa clay loam, 0 to 2
percent slopes. There is adequate soil on these areas to provide
soil on the above water areas around the mined area. The soils
descriptions for the minor areas added in Stage 3 - Part B are
described in the original permit application.
In Stage 2 - Part B, the soils are consistent with those
described in the original application text. This area has
Youngston Series (8A) soils on it as described on page 34(„) of
the original application. The soils map on Page 29(„) shows the
area covered by this stage.
Exhibit J VEGETATION
The newly added areas are currently used as irrigated
.cropland. The crops on these parcels vary from year to year. In
any given year there may be corn, alfalfa, hay grass and other
crops growing on the land. The description found under Croplands
on page 25(81) provides a fair assessment of how this land is
used. The narrative under the "Native" Communities heading on
page 27,,1) accurately describes the area added on the west side
of Stage 3 - Part A.
14
