Re: Costilla County Gravel Pi U Dear Mr. Oswald: I Thank you very much for all the assistance you have given me and the county in sorting out the gravel pit fiasco. The County Commissioners have met to discuss this problem twice a month since January 1D, 1995. This county is divided into three districts with each Commissioner being responsible for a District. The County Commissioners have attempted to locate and or identify all the areas within their nistricts that have been historically used in one way or another to extract gravel. The Commissioners are also attempting to determine whether or not the county has used the sites in the past. And have clearly identified a number of places where the county has extracted gravel. As you are aware the previous County Administrator whos job it is to assist the Commissioners resigned in January. After an extensive search, the County Commissioners have hired a replacement ' who will come into the Commissioners Office beginning April, 1995. Durinq the interim from January until now 1 have been the current contact person for the problems arising out of the gravel pit I~ operations. •I1 Apparently, Mr. Stevens has also worked rather closely with ,two of the County Commissioners concerning a development problem in C~,~ ~ one of the two authorized gravel pits _ The Commissioners would like to schedule in the very near future a time where they could meet with you on site in Costilla
