Brown <br />Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology <br />1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br />Dear Ms. Brown: <br />Enclosed are rain fall records from the Steamboat Pilot newspaper covering the period from May <br />28 through December 30, 1997. <br />A review of [he records indicate that during a three day period, September 19-21, rainfall <br />approached the lOyr-24hr event of 1.8 inches when calculated along 24-hour calendar day <br />periods. A record showing the highest amount of precipitation which may have occurred during <br />a given consecutive 24-hour period is not readily available to my knowledge.
