- 1'IIUI'USLU 1'L ~ :1C IJUI 1CL• I'Ult BAND RELEASE
NO f 1 CE Or BOND RELEASE
The Pittsburg & Midway Coal Mining Co. (P&M) is requesting
release of a performance bond from The Colorado
Mined Land Reclamation Division, for reclaimed
areas at the Edna Coal Mine, northwest of Oak
Creek in Routt County, Colorado.
P&M seeks total release of a 520,000
performance bond held out to insure rill and
gulley stabilization on a reclaimed area covered
under a "life of mine" bond. The area in question
was mined under permit N74/31-CA issued on April
29, 1977. The mine currently operates under
permit NC-80-001 renewed on January 7, 1988.
The area affected by this request is located
in the 6th P.M. and is contained in Section 24
of T4N R86W. The original bond for this area
covered an area of approximately 1475 acres. The
remaining 520,000 bond was for rill and gulley
stability on a small portion of this area.
R?clamation work in this area included
backfilling and grading of the final pit and spoil
ridges, replacing topsoil in required areas and
revegetating the area to rangeland suitable for
grazing.
Any written comments, objections and/or requests
for a public hearing or informal conference, should
be submitted, before January 15, 1990, to The Colorado
Mined Land Reclamation Division, 215 Centennial Building,
1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203-2273.
/'
Gdnn f•linc 1`crmil ~rc~
:X.
T
