CLEAN UP PLAN FOR THE JOKER MINE
File No. CO-016-PO-83-1
Mining & Minerals II, Ltd., as operator of record, submits the following plan to clean up
the referenced site. We propose to complete implementation of the plan prior to October
31, 1998.
1. All barrels located along the northwest side of the laboratory building will be
emptied of the contents by placing on the existing stockpile of ore for processing.
2. The empty barrels will then be disposed of by sending them to the nearest
approved sanitary land fill.
3. Existing ditches or drainage pipes will be cleaned out to provide drainage.
4. Old equipment, car bodies, etc., on the site will be removed and either sold or
hauled to a junk yard.
5. The mine access road to the county road and the drainage ditches will be
maintained.
6. The water wells will be checked to insure they are suitable for any testing that may
be required.
7. We would like to request that the pilot plant building previously used by Marathon
Gold that contains the mill equipment be allowed to remain as we are in the
process of attempting to sell the unnecessary processing equipment. We are
enclosing a list of the companies that buy and sell mining equipment which we
plan to contact relative to this equipment.
8. We also request the laboratory building be available for us to use as a place to
garage our equipment when not in use. This will provide a secure building for
storage of equipment and necessary supplies.
9. We will have several pieces of equipment in the new mining operation and request
we be allowed to utilize the existing shop building for minor repairs as required.
10. Our office would also utilize space in the laboratory building along with any lab
equipment that may be necessary.
11. With reference to the existing ponds, we would anticipate leaving them in place
during the pilot-scale testing in order to facilitate possible future expansion without
disturbing areas previously reclaimed.
