I am still confussed as to why the board
inspectors are encouraging the notice of cessation.
Please allow me to explain our current situation and have the board
decide if in fact a notice of cessation is indeed warrented at this
time.
Point 1.6.2 states a permit will remain in effect as long as mineral
reserves are shown. We have geological reports both historic and
current that show a very large mineral reserve.
1.6.2 (1)(a)(iv): We only have one employee currently, myself,
Nancy Comer-Baker. Although my primary duties at this time are mostly
managerical and clerical, I do still preform testing and minor explor-
ation as the weather permits. I am currently testing the bottom of
our Pit #3 to declare if sufficient values are present to warrent
cleaning bedrock or just backfilling when full mining procedures resume.
I w; h. h~cefully gain the results we are lnokinq for.
~..G.2(1)(a)(v): We are and have been selling our stock piled material
of tailings products. Local Contractors and the City of Fairplay have
been purchasing material ocr,asi_onally even in the off mining months.
Actual extraction o,' mining material has not been preformed since 1991.
In 1992, I preformed tests on the tailings piles to determine values
lost in production. As I have stated in this letter, in 1993 I am
testing pit values. The market values of gold in the last two years
has peen a significant factor in slowing down mining operations at the
Snowstorm Placer. We are hoping that the current up-swing in price
will enable us to begin full operation soon. In the mean time, I will
(719) 836-2000
FAX (719)836-2029
\ ~M ~ 0,
M
(~~1` . ,~~~ ~~~1
,I,)~, ~
