Neeivect <br /> JAN244V41 <br /> D 2rt�F <br /> REVISED RECLAMATION PLAN o otM�°Bral�d G o <br /> for the <br /> ' Unaweep Quarry (Parcel A) <br /> Permit Na M-1984-01 <br /> ' SECTION L O INTRODUCTION <br /> The current reclamation plan for the Surface Rock Pit, Permit No. M-1984-001 was p epared by <br /> Armstrong Consultants, Inc. of Grand Junction, Colorado, dated January 17, 1989. A copy of the <br /> Armstrong reclamation plan is included in Appendix 1 for information purposes. <br /> The Surface Rock Pit was approved for 28 acres of total affected area. Parcel A inclu Jes 18 acres <br /> and Parcel B totals 10 acres. This reclamation plan pertains to Parcel A only. <br /> 1 This revised reclamation plan is a result of the operator's request to terminate operatic ns on the <br /> site for the State of Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology(DMG)permit. The existing <br /> ' mining operations,with regard to the highwall and the stockpile, does nat satisfy the current <br /> reclamation plan requirements. However,to minimize additional surface disturbance o areas <br /> with good vegetative re-growth,the revised reclamation plan outlines amended recommendations. <br /> ' An onsite inspection with the Operator, John Schmahl, and his Attorney, Mesa Count <br /> representatives, and the DMG staff,was conducted on August 23, 2000. Subsequent the <br /> ' inspection,the DMG staff prepared a summary of"Observations" and a "Problems/P ssible <br /> Violations and Corrective Actions"for the operator to acknowledge and address by O ober 30, <br /> 2000. A time extension was granted to complete the geotechnical analyses and to pr are a <br /> Revised Reclamation Plan for the site. <br /> tThe purpose of the revised reclamation plan,therefore, is to address the final reclamat on for the <br /> surface rock quarry. This revised reclamation plan expands on the current reclamatiot plan to <br /> reflect recent mining operations and current conditions of the site. <br /> ' SECTION 2 0 SITE LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION OF PHYSIC <br /> FEATURES <br /> ' Parcel A permit area encompasses approximately 18 acres,of which about 9.5 acres h ve been <br /> disturbed since operations commenced. The site lies on the north side of State Highw y 141, <br /> about 14 miles southwest of Whitewater, Colorado. See attached Vicinity Map. The ' e lies in <br /> ' Section 9,of Township 14 South, Range 100 West,of the a Principal Meridian, Mes County, <br /> Colorado. <br /> ' 3 <br />
