i <br /> 1 SCOPE <br /> 1 This report presents the results of our Geotechnical Investigation, Phase 2 <br /> 1 for the Unaweep Quarry located approximately 30 miles southwes of Grand <br /> Junction, Colorado, Fig. 1. Our investigation was conducted to explore surface <br /> 1 and subsurface conditions and investigate potential highwall rock r II out and <br /> 1 embankment slope stability. The purpose of this report is to preset the data <br /> obtained, results of analysis, our opinions and recommendations for the site. <br /> The report includes a review of State of Colorado, Division of Minerals and <br /> 1 Geology reporting and previous investigation prepared by others, des riptions of <br /> surface conditions, subsoil and groundwater conditions found in five xploratory <br /> 1 test pits, results of laboratory resting and an analysis of rock roll out and slope <br /> 1 stability. This investigation was performed in general conformanca, with our <br /> 1 Proposal No. 00-108 dated September 10, 2000. <br /> ' The report was prepared from data developed during our field exploration, <br /> 1 laboratory testing, engineering analysis and experience with similar coliclitions. A <br /> brief summary of our conclusions and recommendations follows.
